I lost trackof time....totally and completely!!!

Since motherhood started, did I write motherhood, yes I did!! It has been a focus between the baby and myself. She is no longer a baby but heading to being a toddler but I can tell you for free it isn't easy!! It had taken me years since I held one of my own in my arms. It felt like a totally new experience. I can now confidently state that every child in their own way is special to their own needs and requirements. This one being a girl also needs attention, she is all smiley but can get grumpy from time to time especially with lack of sleep and/ or hunger, if you think about it, a combination of the two would be a nightmare right in the middle of day! But am back!!!!

Anyway, all said and done, this journey has not been easy from making me feel completely useless to being too energetic for my own self!! Being a mother, wife, student and employee has taught me one thing in life, you can never be all that without hurting one or two items on your list. For someone like me who family is more than important and again a workaholic, it becomes difficult at times to strike a balance between the two. However, I have learnt that so far, you need to leave your office life at the office door the moment you are out of your workplace and put on the mum cap from then till when you leave your house/ home door the next day. Kids need attention and so does your work. If you have an understanding husband and boss then you are safe if one of them is not, you are in big trouble. Above all pray that you have a loving and understanding husband rather than boss since you can do away with your boss when need be but your family remains.

Too much said and done, my boy finally got a sister who is now 7 months and growing fast!!! I will soon have to sit down and listen to lots of stories as she is already in the gagaga stage and trust me, its a lot of gagagaga and I simply love it!

Next, what makes you tick?

Today, am changing....

Finally a post after like eons! lol...It does not really matter in this life until you make change or be the change that you long to have. Change is good, as good as a rest they say and for me that time has finally come. A time to bring change and see what this change can do to their lives as well as mine. Change at times is inevitable so, I changed the title of my blog if you have noticed! That for once pretty shook me up as one of my readers asked if there are no Kenyan men for me to date? Well it got me thinking that perhaps when I started out that blog I was appealing to a certain group of people, but with time it narrows down to only a percentage, those I could relate with. I realized that that is not the message I wanted to take out there and more so, what I wanted people to know me for. I have values and principles, but one of them was not to be against nature..... I started asking a lot of questions hence decided to take a break from writing. This perhaps was to isolate myself and my own problems to allow for me to sort myself our first and then realize that in life its not always about me, myself and I but about the people around me. So I decided to make some changes. First was to accept the good man in my life that was God sent and yes I did. It helped, I can swear that it was tough at first having to plan things for two at times which for me was new! The only person I had planned with in mind was by then my son, who for some reasons would go with what I had in mind hence no much struggles. I have since adapted to this and I must say, its not that bad! Second I had to finish my class work, it has dragged, like forever but yes I am finally doing it, I am hopefully going to wear that hat this year!!!! That is very exciting for me....and I love the fact that I pushed myself and of course with a little push as well from my super supervisors!

So this year, is a year of change, change of titles and anything that comes with it. Maintaining my body weight, I have tried I must say. Maintaining is not easy, if you asked the many women out here. The struggle is real when you see chocolates, bread, french fries, burgers and all these junks we smell around our estates. You fight, but this year is a year of change, no falling and I ask God to give me strength to follow the path already created.

I cant wait to write about more changes that I am working on including the fact that I will have to learn how to swim this year, I had had a phobia for the longest period!!! That needs to change!!!

Truly, change is inevitable and am sure the next episode will even be more exciting!!!!

CHANGING LIVES AND LOVING IT!

We do different things for a different course, sometimes we do it wrong, sometimes its fifty-fifty, and sometimes when there is a success story you actually see success! Seeing success take time in anything that anyone does and for most of us, giving up is a word we have lived with! I must say most of us give up easily at almost the break through moment point! Have to ever driven a car on top of a hill, a hill that you have never ever known before or heard about? That which you just find along your path? What goes through your head? If you are like me, your driving pace will slow down, simply because, you are not sure what is on the other side of the hill. At times some may turn back and try alternative routes...and if its the only route then perhaps others may never even wait to see what is behind the hill. When faced with such situation, my life choices always end up in the slow down mode! Mostly, the alert mode but keep on going on. I maybe among the 5% curious people who always want to know what is behind the hill and what it takes to get up that hill. The beauty of it is that once you are on top, going down is up to you! You can choose to remain up there and enjoy the beauty and view from on top, or roll down or put a free gear and just find yourself at the bottom! What am I trying to say...it may be difficult and unsure and quite of a challenge to g
row any business that you find yourself in, but at the end of the day it is equally easy to loose what you have achieved in such a long and hard strife to grow and better yourself.

About 11 months ago, a friend of mine shared something with me, something that practically has made me think that perhaps life is not all about 8am to 5 pm every weekday, that it takes a strong person and determination to change your life, that fun is what you need when things are not working as it refreshes you and you are fulfilled enough to even achieve your freedom in life! That one needed about 7 main income streams to be able to be successful. It made me think of my parents, how they had to struggle to get the five of us a good education, we basically never lacked a thing. I did not know about their meager earnings until I was applying for my higher education loan! What am I trying to say, the lifestyle of most of us is get a good education land a good job that can afford you good loans for you to get a car and house and end us paying for it for over 10 years. How do the rich operate? They work hard, building their empires, look at most big companies, they have the business running, they create their own bank ( another business) to provide them with loans as well as keep their business money safe and if not enough, they have schools and hospitals where their children will go to and train to be doctors or businessmen and women so that in the end they can run their businesses. After my friend shared this information with me, I made a choice in life, to be more bold in my investments, to give a more listening ears to new opportunities and be open to new ideas as well. I signed up with my first MLM, yes Multi Level Marketing, with a twist I must say. Mother Teresa ( may God bless her soul) once said, God did not create poverty, but poverty exists because you and I do not share! I therefore take it upon myself to share these beautiful product with all my friends! I am glad to be part of a trillionaire industry that is growing and will grow to levels that no one ever imagine.

Pose right there, are you living or existing? This is a title that also caught me by surprise only to realize that I existed each and every day, I am yet to clear being in existence but am sure looking at the ultimate goal of living and making a living living. Most of us for sure exist, does this sound familiar....I have a Monday to Monday already pre-planned schedule such that if anyone interfered with it, it would mean I would have to go an extra mile to be a part of their deal...yes, I have a pretty good job, actually the envy of many, I travel a lot, meet new people, mostly CEOs and top directors in the Agricultural sector...yeah, either am driving somewhere leaving my house at 6 am and checking into a hotel at around 10 pm in the night or I am in the office by 9am and leave by 5 if not 6 pm. Most of the times, I am on my phone which makes my better half, did I say better half, oops! yes I did, and yes this is a story for another day, so annoyed and in more than enough cases he has to take the phone away from me and at times we even fight because of this!I work half day on Saturday which means I get home only after 2 pm at times if nothing haas come up at the office and have to start cleaning the house. Sunday of course if rest and church day and at times stay at church till noon have perhaps a family meeting and life cycle of Monday begins again. I can bet 100% that you and I share the same lifestyle. Maybe mine is a little bit more flexible these days thanks to my new club!

My life has practically changed! Thanks to my MLM! I love doing what do now more than ever. As for my 8-5 usual, I know I am soon going to kiss you goodbye and work towards achieving more for myself and building my empire. I cannot wait for that day! I love the fact that I will be able to do what I love most, cater for the needy and have time to actually follow up and give more time to them! That is what my purpose is, to love and change lives and put a smile on those who are not able to it by themselves!

Living it and loving it!

Will I ever?

Today am down low,I have never sat in front of a computer and done nothing....not even Facebook jazzes me today! I am drained, and awaiting a conference call that would otherwise last an hour! I need strength to see myself through the next one and a half hours! Yes its 1530 hours, we check out of office at 1700 hours! How can a minute be that long? It actually feels like an hour! Either I am so drained or something is not right today. I will choose to go with the so drained bit since I know everything is right! Maybe not 100% but its alright. Now, I am contemplating skiving the office! Ok skiving is not when you start packing your bags and leave office when everyone know youre leaving, skiving is skiving, just that! Today I thought and did, I thought of leaving the office, keeping in mind I will be home in time for the hour long conference call...I am still waiting for it, that is why I am idle enough to even type something up!Can you imagine, I am even signing in my email to just check if the caller cancelled or decided otherwise! Yaani, either am too naive or I think that all people are kind enough to request for a reschedule in good time!

Well that aside, I thought of skiving, and when I was thinking, I actually got myself shutting down my laptop, packing my bags and standing up to leave! I cant believe I did that. But honestly, its high time offices gave staff a time out! I can easily work and deliver from home. Maybe not always but well, at least 50% of the time when am not in the least bit required in the office but for my presence! Now when I grow up, and I am my own boss, I will have flexi hours in my company, I will not force staff to come to the office, just for show, and stare at their computers or laptop like I did today! I can tell you for sure, my head was tired, not just my head, but mind! Fatigue of the mind is worse than that of the body, because what it does, you just shut down, you cant eat, you cant talk, you cant listen, you cant concentrate, in short you're a dodo! Yes I said a dodo....a dodo...its significance according to Wikipedia is that one of the best-known extinct animals and its singular appearance led to its use in literature and popular culture as a symbol of an outdated concept or object, as in the expression "dead as a dodo," which has come to mean unquestionably dead or obsolete. Similarly, the phrase "to go the way of the dodo" means to become extinct or obsolete, to fall out of common usage or practice, or to become a thing of the past! I will stick to the first description.

In short, I have a brief message, when your staff are tired, let them go home and be obsolete there not in your office. When someone can even Facebook, give them leave and I mean like make them go on holiday or something...all in all, I close my year tomorrow and I cant wait to go home....and trust me its for holiday, I have no holiday because other deadlines await me! All in all, I will be away from my office and for the first time in six years, I will have an auto-respond message stating that I will be away. I honestly have never had one of those, so am still excited, tired but excited. Apparently am not even sure if the call was cancelled, postponed or ? And one other thing, I will add courtesy to my office...communication has to be well done! Let me rest for a while....a while could be 2-4 hours then awake for other deadlines...for now please stay constructive...if things a thick at the office and you cant think, talk a walk! I did not just say that!

This Christmas

Last time I checked I was too busy to even finish my blog...not today, I have all the time, stolen time, yes I decided its time for me to spruce up myself and steal time where I can to at least do what I love doing!

The holidays are here, I am not complaining, this year the big boss has been kind enough to allow us take some two weeks off! Truly deserved, and I needed it, I will surely utilize it and fully will. I cant wait for the holiday to start, I already switched to this mood two weeks ago...but again, being with my family is even more important...only sad thing is that I will be going one direction while he will be going another, but I know one day we will all be going the same direction to celebrate as a family!I have learnt in the past few months that you may not get all the time you need to rest but you can always make time to do stuff, even if its for a few minutes.....or seconds...and for these I thank God for giving me friends who understand me and at all times have been supportive. I will not mention my family since they have had to put up with much more than I have ever imagine during the whole of this year from changing circumcision dates for my son to changing dates of his grown up bash!

Now onto that, I am a totally proud mother, on the 24th of December, 2014, my son will be a totally grown man, the initiation ceremony will have been completed with his manhood bash that am sure he cant wait to have. He has been calling almost all the time to ask when I will be home so that I he can shave his hair. Tradition has it that he may not shave his hair until he is done with the ceremony....well am not sure why...and the more the reason I will continue with this practice! I understand its to shave away his childhood and welcome him to his manhood...well that is what I have been told and it will stick that way.Although sometimes I still question it! Anyway, I cant wait for him to be out, to finally stand on his two feet. I have seen him grow, when he could just fit right on my laps to the time when he knew he was being moved beds and could wake up immediately I put him in his court, to his first walk and continuous running, didn't he run! He always had a permanent mark on his forehead and we called it 'The torch' since it was right on his forehead. It only healed after he learnt not to run! Sometimes I feel, he used to run since when he was younger he could be told to sit in one location to avoid getting dirty! Why did we even give him that theory in the first place? When he learnt to walk he quickly ran, and when ran he ran and he loved it so much when we could chase after him! It was so hectic that I had to device a method of feeding him, by placing him somewhere where he could not run, otherwise we could all run trying to feed him! My son, he is all grown up now, he can do so much for himself. I feel proud that he can actually go to school on his own! Next year he sits his Primary school certificate exams...soon he will do his O Levels...and then graduate college! I cant wait for all the above to happen. 13 years feels like yesterday since I can still feel him laying on my laps, while I breast fed him! A tiny tot! Now a big boy...no a man!

The tough times, I have had for this year, the fun times, cry baby moments and the growth experienced, I thank God for it! For the family, friends, close friends, my partner in crime, you know yourself, and relatives, I thank God for all of you. Being the people in my circle is not one of the easiest thing but you have helped me through out the year and I celebrate all of you!

To all the single parents out there, single parenting is tough, when you make choices you stick by them and sticking by them is one of the toughest thing to do! It takes strength to make these, but with God all is possible! Keep up the faith.

Holidays, holidays, happy holidays...keeping slim and fit for 2015! Happy holidays people!

I appreciate the men in my life...they have built me

Tired as I may be coz my eyes can show, I am not regretting every bit and the level I have reached. Single is just a word....a word that can be changed sooner or later, my life has been interesting of late. I disappeared for a while, but hold on for a good reason. Told you about my class work, I finally collected my data and honestly, I will disappear again since I still have analysis, presentation and thesis writing. And that is where reading and learning new stuff has made me reach, the point of no return! No return because I am not looking back! I have a good and will achieve it, I have a wall hanging that reminds me of that...Deliberation is the work of many men, an action of one alone, a hanging given to me while in high school ( dont be shocked) yes high school for being a morale booster. I love it, that is me, the happy girl, most of the times shy but loving it all the same.

Anyway all the above was a digression, as usual, what did you expect, I am a woman, I multitask not just in my head but even in my writing...lol...something that I am already doing. Anyway, I thank God for my tired eyes because, without them I would not have something to remind me of the long nights I am having of late and those that may be on their way and the fruits that I will be harvesting soon. Now back to business, as I said I am loving every bit of it. I let my guard down for a little bit and see what it got me. A gentleman. I had in my previous writings indicated there is one, who I may just date well, I have a wonderful man, actually 7 wonderful men in my life, the first one is always beside me to remind me of my goals and what I need to do sometimes. He is my balance, keeping me on track...the right track, taught me a lot the past few months that I have had time to learn and grow with him. The second, my son, my precious, who by the way underwent the cut this August, yes I have officially a man in the house, who is the reason why I am and will be, the fourth my dad, who will always call to ask me what I am having for supper, sounds funny, but well he is my old man and that gives me strength to move on. There are two other, my brothers, always supportive, throwing words at me sometimes, not to spite me but to make me a better person and they sure have. The final one is bigger than them all, the above person that is never seen, heard but felt in His own mysterious ways and guides all of us, engulfing us and giving us directions, guidance and protection.

I appreciate all of you and pray that you are given strength to make me an even better person than I am today...

Characters identified...

So I finally took the personality test just to figure out where some of my unbecoming behavior comes from! Well I had done something close to it about 5 years ago but clearly I never took it seriously! So last time I checked I needed to be given a little push to make things work...this time, totally the opposite! I must say perhaps I must have been naive 5 years ago, not knowing what to say especially if someone pissed me off...again, my close friends would differ on that specific character...knowing me, they could have sworn I lied in the first test and that the second was more realistic. They could be right as I was known to be the most outspoken in my clique, not only being so blunt with my words but caring the least about how it affected those who got my wrath at times...you can ask a few students leaders, one who in his drunken state tried knocking our door while we were still freshers in Campus. Up to now, I think he shivers my just the thought of talking to me as he has to ensure his words are well scripted and sieved before opening his mouth. Anyway, that aside, its about the personality test...so I discovered some very peculiar habits that I have been carrying since my birth and at least now I can blame it on something if not someone :-) Okay am not supposed to be smiling.

Its encouraging when I see some of the happenings in my life and understand why they are so and at times trying to control what I feel and what I would have done. I am amazed at how much I have grown, from the short tempered person to a more calm and collected. It may come because of age and maturity but no,I understand myself more and more each day. And I understand the people around me more, how they react and handle things. Unless, am pushed me too much to the wall or place me between a hard rock and a stone? I hope I will be able to understand my son when he comes home and leaves his socks and shoes at the door or even the man am seeing...jeez this is a hard one! I hope I have the strength to also learn how to let go of this one!!! I need lots of strength for this one! Its encouraging, so I ask all you to take one today and appreciate yourself even more :-)

25 Things about me.....

01. I am naughty...when i want to be. 02. I am fiercely loyal. kind of strict and dependable and will never mention it 03. I am usually listening to a tune in my head, if i burst out dancing don't look at me funny, its in my head. 04. I have a goal in life and will always follow some rules I have set for myself to achieve it though at times I may add and try out a little bit of this and that to achieve the same goal 05. I am never laugh but when I do it must be to a very funny joke though at times I may take long to get it so you need to explain it to me (lol). 06. When i am 'experiencing life's challenges' I tend to talk a lot, please lend me your ear when am having my outbursts 07. My first love is plants. I get that from my mother, who is my mentor. I can talk and look at plants for hours on end, excuse me if you are bored ( which in most circumstances you do). 08. I care about your feelings, i do, if they are affecting my mood. If not, find a bridge, walk to the middle of it, get on the railing, now JUMP. 09. I WANT A HOUSE IN THIS LIFETIME! though as it is now its a commitment I will save for later, say next 4 years. 10. I love kids, my kids, our kids, their kids.... they get to go home with me, us or them. 11. I can enjoy myself without being under the influence, if i turn down a drink, its not you, its me. Or it could be you. 12. I am the friend who will get you drunk and make you do the dumbest things, again its not malicious, memories are made of this refer to Number 1.. 13. I love hiking. I live for them. Ideally , unplanned hikes, just spot a nice hiking place and we are on! 14. I have been never been known to own a teddy bear ok am lying, I had several in college but I trashed them when I realized I was all grown up and its my son who needed them more than I did..so I handed them down...it taught me one lesson, its hard to let go ( which I did) 15. The quickest way to my bad side is messing with my sleep. DONT mess with my sleep ( This is a warning!!). 16. When i am quiet, i am not mad, i am either sleepy or thinking. Keep asking me to cheer up, and i will be mad ( It sucks!!). 17. I don't curse I must be really agitated, keep off!. 18. I play dumb a lot, gets me out of a lot of shit. 19. I am a critic and a good one for that matter, call me up when you need some positive blunt criticism! 20. I love mind games, as long as we are on the same page and its your mind, not mine (hahahahaaha). 21. I have selective tolerance levels, for everyone. And I do appreacite that everyone is different and that has put in lots of trouble because I have a whole lot of my diverse friends. 22. It takes me a short while to learn my lesson, make sure you are not that lesson or you are its a good one 23. I always land on my feet, i am a member of the fantastic four and i don't think there is anything we cannot do. 24. When cornered, i will tell you anything and everything to get you out of my hair and i will avoid confrontation at all times and walk out if I sense there is going to be any, including but not limited to moving and going under ground ( The last has always worked well for me). 25. I try to live by the forgive all wrong and repay all right twofold mantra. I have not mastered it and i comfort myself by believing forgiving and forgetting are two different things. So I choose the forget most of the time and it always works for me!

New beginnings???

Well, life is interesting, even in all the hullabaloo of trying to discover things, you fall and stumble getting up in a whole different and totally different environment from your expectations. In short when you think that you have finally landed, you find that the landing ground was somewhat marshy and a swamp that could have drowned you, but learning to wad yourself, holding your breathe and struggling out of the somewhat paddy field of swampy water sometimes quick sandy, makes one emerge out stronger and with a clearer direction of what they seek to achieve and live. Missing in action, means action is happening....I finally finished my year one course work, am feeling achieved and refreshed with things happening extremely fast, not being planned, just happening. Exams out, project in! Phase two will be handled with a more relaxed and open mind. At least not much reading but applications which I have learnt so am not really worried. Anyway, that is that about my books...social life has been somewhat interesting..... I have always been one impatient person, okay, at least from what I have been told by a few people including my very own mother and especially son...who at times reminds me of myself when I was younger. Just the other day we were having a conversation before he started his exams on how he needs to go through his paper with care and slow pace! I remembered how I used to finish my exams such that by the time the teacher finished handing us examinations papers, I was already done...to their chagrin, all my answers always were right, okay perhaps 98% correct...if I took my time I would get 100% Okay, patience it a virtue am still praying to gain, slowly but surely I have been gaining it of late, only of late, lets say the past almost eight months or so...I have held it, and still putting it well within my grip. This time round, I do not want it to slip whatsoever, because, I have been taught, by one person, to be patient. Apart from my impatient nature, anger doubled it up!Impatient people are somewhat always angry people...I guess, from a personal experience...but well I am handling both very well nowadays. I guess when one grows and learns to trust at least those around them, the impatient nature sublimes and so does the anger. I am not conclusively stating that most impatient people are angry people, but one triggers the other, example, you meet me later than the agreed time, you will either find me gone or vexed up....BINGO...that is anger! Anyway, let me just say, with every human being, there comes a time in their lives, when the good Lord brings someone extra special who is able to just listen to them, understand them, hold them and hear them out while they least expect it! Especially those that you never have imagines or looked at! When they take time with them, they learn the patient and beauty of life, learn to control their anger and laugh a little bit more! They say you at times need to love and not be loved, be loved and not love back and love and be loved back to understand the true meaning of love and what it really feels and the lengths one can go to make things work ( not a one sided sacrifice), if true or just a passing cloud. I have thought about it for a while and I guess it time to give one a chance, love a try, one more time...hearts are to be broken or be forever taken care of...I guess this time it will be taken care of. I met my match and I think I have finally...hopefully, this will be the last match I have to meet!!!

Drama is.....

Drama unfolds, but this one is more than drama. Not sure if it should have a different name from the drama. Lets just says, 2013 has flown....literary...its already September just the other day we were talking Christmas and arguing with my son on whether or not I should buy him clothes. Well don't give me that look, sometimes you cant just buy clothes because its Christmas, for him, every other day is Christmas, I buy him clothes so buying new ones last Christmas was a thing to discuss? Well maybe not.... But anyway, back to the drama or something of the sort, drama is when things happen unexpectedly, like the year 2013 reaching September without my knowledge? Is it that I have been too busy with my latest addiction till I forgot the dates? Okay I must admit, I have been home only 3 times this year, meaning I only got to see very little of my son. Okay and the few times he has come to my school. I must admit, cell phones have made life easier and I get to talk to him everyday or let me call it almost everyday. Drama is when your son calls you a month after you replaced his wardrobe to tell you that he needs new clothes since he has sort of added weight. Yes, I feel like I have gone back to that age when he was between 1-3 years when I could buy clothes and shoes every 3 months....this is what has become the conversation during the phone calls, shoes and clothes and description of which type of clothes and shoes are needed. Uhhm! He is about to enter his teenage, so am expected to know the fashion trends and be able to keep up so as not to buy clothes that he may never wear...now that is drama if you combine it with books.... Drama is trying to read, when you have a test tomorrow, and trying to be busy typing away, okay I have read and I needed a break so why not type it away? I love blogging or perhaps just typing stuff, it reduces my dramas a bit....trims them to an unacceptable level, a level I can manage....... Drama is trying to convince someone to juggle between watching TV ( 3 channels at the same time), typing and chatting...that is exactly what I am being subjected to at this particular moment. I am about to send a protest letter to the TV stations to avoid collusion of time with my favorite programs...how can I give up Churchill, a great comedy show for TPF6 another great form of entertainment the equivalent of American idol? Like really and Arsenal is playing? Plus I need to finish my test revision and still do one document review? Now that is a bigger drama....calculating....Prioritization? Key word...but what comes first in this case? A bit confusing!! Drama is just about to end this typing session because I have discovered, after a lot of soul searching, that it may not be so much my priority area right now...ooops! Cheers later...gotta run!
